I like the idea behind this, but it was rushed, repetitive, and made the FMC sound nonsensical. I appreciated the intentional representation of multiple different minority groups, but as someone who is part of multiple groups, this was rushed and felt both like the entire reason for the story and shoehorned into a sexy holiday book and that the author couldn’t make up their mind which one it was. I’d love to see this more fleshed out and given the space to properly build tension and give the FMC more time to process her past and disability in a way that doesn’t feel like she’s a trauma soup in an incompetent character.
