The Staff of Serapis by Rick Riordan
5.0
I guess the secret to getting me to like Sadie was having her go on an adventure with Annabeth.
I'd love to just point out the big difference between Son of Sobek and Staff of Serapis: Carter and Percy were just so hesitant and intimidated by each other, whereas Sadie spills her whole life story to this girl she met like an hour ago who comes from a world she didn't even know existed, and Annabeth just kinda goes "Okay, cool."
I'm so excited to read the next (and sadly, the last) installment of this miniseries because:
A) I get to see Percy whom I am deeply in love with
B) The Kane/ Chase/ Jackson dynamic should be thoroughly entertaining
C) The biggest things these two stories did for me was introduce me to Greek and Egyptian mythology / history (we all knew those kids in school who thought they were experts in Greek mythology after reading Percy Jackson, or rather you were one) and I'm really hoping I'll learn more about Ptolemy's reign in Egypt and how Greek and Egyptian..."magic"...? mix.
D) The previous one's me getting my hopes up - it's a novella meant for kids, not a history book.
