5⭐️/ 4🌶️

I love hockey romance stories and while I still have no clue about the sport despite the many books I’ve read about them… I can’t get enough of it! This story followed Pacey and his friends a.k.a. his fellow hockey team mates as they were relaxing in their yearly cabin getaway after ending the season. Each year they always spent time at Tater’s (Silas Taters; teammate) cabin and just spent the time to unwind after a brutal hockey season, especially the one they just had, they all needed the vacation. Suddenly with a bad rainstorm, the guys were thankfully already at the cabin, but as fate would have it, a woman stumbled upon their cabin, lost and without any cell service she needed help, and her name was, Winnie.

The last thing Winnie expected was to end up staying in a cabin full of handsome professional hockey players, but it was better than staying in her Mini Cooper and potentially get kidnapped by a stranger. From the beginning of the story, this story was humorous and great. I’ll admit that Winnie wasn’t the only one who had trouble following along on who was who since the guys referred to each other by their last names/nicknames, that even I was like, “wait… who’s name is this?” Thankfully both Winnie and I got on quickly afterwards. The guys were all different from Posey being the sweet lovable guy, to Tater kind of being grumpy (bad breakup=bad mood during book), Hornsby the prettiest of the bunch, Holmes the quiet bookworm, and Pacey the shy guy in front of women but omg definitely flirted with Winnie through out the book.

This book was perfect to set the stage for the characters since it laid out all the different personalities in the guys, and eventually each will have their own books. In this book, Pacey seemed like a good hearted guy, he was kind, helpful, and thoughtful especially with Winnie. Pacey kind of came off standoff-ish according to Winnie, but that was only because for Pacey it takes him a while to warm up to others. I found Pacey sweet and fun, and with Winnie they had great chemistry such as, when they were playing Jenga! That scene was funny but the tension towards the end of that scene was delicious! While the chemistry and tension was great between Winnie and Pacey, Pacey couldn’t help but feel like he knew Winnie from somewhere, that she was familiar to him… oh yeah that’s right because after playing Jenga, he realized that Winnie had dated his half brother, uh oh.

I feel like in a way, with Winnie and Pacey’s developing relationship it was kind of a slow build and through out the book there was just the right amount of tension. I loved the sweet moments between Winnie and Pacey, but once they finally had their night of passion.. OH MY GOD IT WAS FANTASTIC! Pacey may have been a sweet man, but oh lord can he dirty talk and command in the bedroom, phew I was breathless. This book delivered on all fronts of romance, spice, cute moments, and humor. Definitely fell in love with both Winnie and Pacey, their chemistry really was great both in and out of the bedroom.

Early on in the story, it seemed like Winnie was dealing with some personal stuff and despite the guys trying to get her to open up, she remained guarded about herself. Though after slowly spending more time with Pacey, Winnie told Pacey the truth such as, not knowing what she wanted to do next in her life especially since the passing of her mom. Pacey was comforting and attentive to Winnie, and for once Winnie felt like she was cared for as opposed to her caring for others.

As the story progressed, I loved not only the connection Winnie and Pacey developed, but also seeing the other guys interact as well. In a way, it was like Winnie not only stumbled upon the perfect man for her, but she also became friends with the guys, and the guys genuinely liked Winnie as well. I could not get enough of this book, and I found myself totally immersed in the story that I was having fun reading. Absolutely loved this story and can’t wait more in this series!
