I was looking forward to reading this as a bit of escapism, and I enjoyed it even more than I thought I would.
Our hero, S.T., is not naive, but he is so earnest and charming. It's a hopeful story that uses humor rather than sentimentality to show the goodness that can come from working together, relying on others for help, and pushing through dark times.
It's funny and sweet and I liked it a lot.
