Berserk, Vol. 14 by Kentaro Miura
5.0
This volume has some really great moments across the board, but the one that really did it for me was when Guts finds that the little girl he told to stay away from him (for her own safety) had curled up next to him while he slept. The deep sadness and guilt, but also the tenderness on his face when he sees her just completely sells the trauma, regret, and guilt that are tearing him up inside constantly, that he hides by going full demon mode most of the time. The tenderness shows that he is still the pure hearted person we fell in love with over these 10 volumes or so of origin story - that person is just buried deep beneath the monster of vengeance and death he's made himself into to deal with his trauma and to confront the demon infested world he now finds himself in.
And also he makes the sicko mode face in this one and it's so good.
