Every Summer After by Carley Fortune
medium-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
- Strong character development? It's complicated

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this book. It was definitely enjoyable to read, especially in the beginning. The author did a great job with the imagery and world building, where you could easily imagine being on the lake. Honestly, it was a really great book, up until the characters go to college, Sam distances himself from Percy, and Percy and Charlie hook up. It just felt so trite and overdone, with the cheating and miscommunication. Sure, they were teenagers and it happens, but it felt like a cheap and predictable way to end the book.
