I loved Jake Connelly from the moment he opened his mouth. He was fantastic and him and Brenna's banter and chemistry was unmatched. This one was definitely a bit of slow burn and it worked really well. I also loved how sassy and headstrong Brenna was. This book took on some heavy topics which I wasn't necessarily expecting. It also felt more hockey focused than some of the others in the original series and I really liked that. I definitely feel like I related to Brenna. While I never wanted to go into sports journalism, I fully understood the struggle of finding something you love and excel at. I had a lot of fun reading this book and there were several moments I found myself laughing out loud. I also thought there was a degree of healing here that I hadn't seen in some of the other books. I really enjoyed this one and I'm excited to continue the spin off series.
