The Mindful Way through Depression: Freeing Yourself from Chronic Unhappiness by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Zindel V. Segal, Mark Williams, John D. Teasdale

This book was recommended in Come As You Are, and I was intrigued. I kept putting off reading it though, thinking I should save it for a time I was feeling down. But actually it was ideal to read this from a more stable position, so I can remember these tips for when I need them! Most of it was not new information to me, as someone who’s been reading about and trying to practice mindfulness for some time now, but the text was still a good reminder about how to use these techniques towards a specific goal of feeling happier. I particularly enjoyed the framing of thinking mind vs. doing mind vs. being mind. I didn’t personally feel called to exactly do the audio guided meditations at the end of the book, though I’ve been trying to bring some of the concepts into my meditation and my daily life.
