I listened to this book and, although  interesting, for me it wasn’t the tear jerker many people talk about it being. The story gripped me and I kept on reading, but I didn’t have a lot of empathy for Elsie. It felt like her mourning was out of proportion and her privilege showed a lot in how gracious people around her were. Maybe the author just didn’t do a good enough job of explaining Elsie’s mourning process for it to be believable for me. Overall, the book  kept me interested though and I never felt like putting it down and not finishing.
