A fun read! Received the day it came out and read on a vacation.

Gyatso was an easy highlight, but Malaya was a wonderful character to include. I also felt that we could see Sozin’s wickedness even from youth, but his sneaky way of spinning situations make it believable that Roku would still let things slide for the sake of their friendship.

Also the new Roku lore about his and Sozin’s shared companion was an excellent touch that feels realistic to his past, and even further solidifies how Sozin could be a blind spot for him.

Overall another great edition to the Chronicles, and well-done from Randy Ribay!
