More Than Her by Jay McLean
4.0
In this book of the series, we experience the story of Amanda and Logan. I have to say, I enjoyed this book a lot more than Jake and Mikayla but I was still more than happy to see them and the rest of the gang featured in the story.
“You and me," he shouted. "We're going to make new memories. Ones that you aren't afraid of. And it's going to be amazing.”
Logan Matthews was the only one without partner in the #1, [b:More Than This|18285151|More Than This (More, #1)|Jay McLean|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1375710763s/18285151.jpg|25463804] , he was able to sleep around and be the asshole of the group, and now we see what's really been going on.
Amanda Marquez.
We learn so much about Logan; his past especially since it has it's influences in this story in relation to his feelings for her.
The book starts in the past back to when Logan first encountered Amanda. He's an asshole but she's pretty feisty herself and Logan can't keep away. Flipping to the past and future, their history is revealed to the point where we see how Logan lands on her brother's doorstep looking for a roommate to bunk with almost a year later.
We feel a lot of pain for Logan's childhood and all that he's been through. Between his past and his feelings for Mikayala, he's messed up badly with Amanda before, but now he feels he can try and get her back.
“I'll follow you wherever, Logan. For as long as you'll have me."
Amanda Marquez has had a seriously rough year. For her, that night changed everything.
Having to share a place with Logan proves difficult no matter how much she tried to move on and avoid him as much as possible. His persistency allures her to him back to how it all was for that one night where she felt something that she had never felt before. She eventually learns to forgive him, as they start to fall for each other.
“It doesn't matter where I am in this world, there's nothing else I'd rather see. Just you.”
Logan doesn't plan on letting Amanda go...ever. She's it for him and they can both feel it. However with broken pasts slowly revealed, they work together and stand by and support each other however they can.
Until a major blow up has Logan running away with guilt.
And Amanda is truly broken.
"I love you, Amanda."
"I hate you, Logan."
Really, as much as the girl was willing to be someone she didn't want to be to beg him to come back, Logan. Just. Can't.
I really got to know these characters quite well. Both of them had a rough past, they are both really supportive of each other. And both of them see a happy future with each other.
I felt for these characters, the shocks, the heart-breaks, the pain. I liked their personalities too, Amanda is really great with her quirkiness and yet she could be an understanding person.
Logan's an asshole but still, even though his past is a real pity factor, he's done well and he's really a great guy. Arrogant but great.
“I'm not fucking calling you a slut!" She took a step forward. "But if cocks had wings you'd be fucking airport.”
I have also officially fallen in love with their group of friends. They are such a charismatic bunch, I laugh at all their scenes, there's always some sort of drama and I look forward to reading their stories too.
The ending of this book will have you looking for the next because we need to know how they are gonna get back to each other....
