Currently writing this review with many years leaving my face. This is a story about grief, trauma, loss, race, love, and growth.
This book fully surprised me with what happened, how heavy it would be (in a good way), how much I would love these characters, how much I wanted to fight for them, and how hard this story would hit me.
More people need to read this book. Jas Hammonds did a beautiful and seemingly impossible job weaving a heavy story with that of one about love. I don’t think this story could have been told any better.
