I had very high expectations for this book after so loving another series I read by the same author. I was quite looking forward to returning to his writing and I’m happy to say he didn’t disappoint! It’s not quite as good as the other series I’ve read but it’s still only book one so there’s a lot of potential there. Gwynne is so great at world building, he makes me feel like I’m on my tenth book in the series with everything already well established and it’s only the first. That’s how smooth and light his works building is, it just clicks in to place. Very much looking forward to seeing what the second book is going to bring!
