Revolution Day: A suspense and spy thriller by Blair Denholm

4.0

I have read a few of Blair’s works now, but I think this one might be my favourite so far!

Revolution day follows Captain Voloshin who is trying to track down the murderer of an African student. However, the higher ups want the crime to be swept under the carpet. Voloshin must work secretly to get justice.

There’s something about the way that Blair writes that I find so easy to read. I admit, there were no big surprises in this book. If you enjoy detective thriller novels with huge plot twists then this book probably isn’t for you. But I still thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I really hope that there will be more books in this series.

The one small issue I had is that Voloshin is almost identical to one of the character’s in Blair’s other series. I would have liked there to be more difference between them as it started to feel a little one dimensional. That being said, I absolutely loved the completely different setting. The cold Russian environment is a stark contrast to previous books I’ve read by Blair. I absolutely loved the eerie quality it gave to this book. It also made it the perfect book to cuddle up with during the colder months.

I would recommend this to any fans of a more slow burning thriller/detective novel. I want to thank Blair for allowing me to read this book and give my personal thoughts.
