The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller

5.0

I love books that make you "feel" and push you way out of your comfort zone. Yet so very real and upfront with the characters. Life is so terrible for so many in this book, but it's a clue as to why they behave in the ways they do. Trauma was often hidden and still is .....the shame factor is so real and this is a true example of how people push forward and live. All the wrongs will make you pause (and puke) if you have a conscience. I was disturbed and moved by this book. I can see it being discussed for many reasons and it has the power to unleash the shame people carry.
