The Willful Princess and the Piebald Prince by Robin Hobb

3.0

This book is only for those who have read the Farseer series. The whole novella is nothing more than a detailed explanation of something that occurs in the main series. Though I liked most of the book, and I think it's very well-written, I felt the ending was pointless and depressing. It left me extremely unsatisfied. I think if I had read the plot point from within the series this book was trying to explain, I might have been more understanding of the way this ended.

SpoilerFor those who want to know, this book doesn't have a happy ending. It ends with evil men ruling and the characters I liked best, dead. The only "hope" is a pretty weak one for someone unfamiliar with the series.
