Kingsrise by Anne Mattias
5.0
I have recently finished Kingsrise by Anne Mattias and I loved it.
I was hankering for urban fantasy set in a small English town, so this sounded great and add that it's Arthurian-inspired was a bonus. I was immediately drawn in by the cover so had to grab it. When I started it I was absolutely sucked in by the characters and the mystery and it just dragged me along with it.
As I say, the characters were fantastic and I think that author did a great job establishing them as in depth real people very quickly and once the strange and supernatural things started going on I was hooked even more.
I really enjoyed how the Arthurian elements were woven in. It's not a police procedural pasted over the top of the Arthurian legend, but rather (as the author writes it) Arthurian-inspired so it's familiar enough to give you a hint at what might happen but twisted (if that's the right word) enough to keep you guessing and hooked on the story.
I would definitely recommend giving this one a go if that sounds like something you're interested in.
