Pretty Sane: Living with Schizophrenia by Nicola Wall

5.0

This book contains details of mental health. This book does not give you tips on how to deal with your mental health, instead this book talks about the author's own experiences with mental health.

This book was beyond words. A beautifully written, poignant story about one's own experiences with schizophrenia. One thing that really stuck with me is how Nicola Wall stated that it's not the diagnosis that truly matters, it's that people understand or at least try to understand it. People with mental illness are still people, it doesn't make them dangerous or violent.

There were many scenes in this book, in Wall's life, that really brought tears to my eyes. All those scenes with her mother really hit me.
The fact that you've been through so much and still come out on top truly amazes me. You're strong Mrs Wall, you're so strong and I admire your strength and ability to deal with things.

In a few ways, this book really hit home and I feel that this connection is what made the book twice as impactful as it already is.

I cannot fathom how important this read is, so, I'll tell you to read this. Read this book if you're ready to open your mind and your heart and listen to what Wall has to say. (Key note: Have tissues at the ready)
