Each chapter of Yaa Gyasi’s work packs the emotional punch of an entire novel, and it builds beautiful. This should be required reading in every high school in the US and every college after that. Stunning doesn’t say the half off it. This is a work that will resonate across decades and into next century and whose importance will not wane.
