This is the first book in the Black Eyed Kids series. The book is very well written and very original. I have never heard of "BEKS" before. It's very creative. Mav's world keeps getting turned upside down as his life starts to unravel before his eyes. It's loss after loss and he can't seem to make it stop. A good quote to describe the book that I found inside the book is "One minute he's a normal teenager looking forward to normal teenage problems, and a week later, his world is shattered by a simple knock on the door." I am looking forward to book two to see what else is coming for Mav and his friends.
