Saga, Volume 11 by Brian K. Vaughan
4.0
Saga feels like it's starting to get some of its momentum back after the last volume, though there's still a bit of a feeling of inertia in the storyline of Alana trying to get by with her kids. And the fallout from Marko's death feels like it surged back somewhat randomly after a volume where the tragedy was in the background, not driving the action. I'm not sure if that's Vaughan trying to find his footing and a raison d'ĂȘtre for the story to continue, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I appreciated the intensity and the drama but I'm not sure what it's building to.
This volume's arc brings back some old favourite characters and introduces a couple of fun new minor characters, as well as a new planet where Alana's working in an Amazon-esque fulfillment centre. Staples' art is still amazing. Particular shout-out to the issue 65 cover image of a lying down Lying Cat.
