Octaedro by Julio Cortázar
4.0
I have decided to get acquainted with Latin American literature more closely, since it is a very different world, with its own way of thinking, its, at times, incomprehensible philosophy. One of the representatives of the Magical Realism, Julio Cortázar, was the first writer who gave me the first impression. The way he writes, puts his ideas across were not very common to me, and it took me a lot of time before I began realizing that you wouldn't understand a thing if you keep staring at the surface waiting for a some routine fact to emerge. With Cortázar and his other fellows you have to be careful in order not be taken in by the easiness of the narration. However, once you get into their fascinating world, you'll start looking at things in a completely different way.
