The Unapologetic Guide to Black Mental Health: Navigate an Unequal System, Learn Tools for Emotional Wellness, and Get the Help You Deserve by Rheeda Walker

challenging hopeful informative reflective medium-paced

3.0

The content of the book was good and important, but it was difficult to stay engaged while reading as some of the chapter were quite long and there was a lot of repetition. This guide could be most useful for those who are at the very beginning of their mental wellness journey, but if you’ve engaged in therapy or read other “self-help” books this book may feel like starting at the beginning. I’d recommend this for that family member or friend who “doesn’t believe in mental heath” and has an “it is what it is” attitude to life.
