Deep Breaths
I have so many emotions while reading this book and I'm still crying while writing this review.
These are the few words that I can describe my feelings about the book.
"AMAZING"
"HEART-ACHINGLY BEAUTIFUL"
"TORE MY HEART INTO PIECES"
"A VERY EMOTIONAL AND IMPORTANT READ"
This book was beyond what I had imagined. Albeit it written in verses, the nuances of the book sends an important message on the injustice the people of colour receives, hope and faith as well as achieving freedom in a confined and broken justice system.
Everything about this book was a depiction of the world that we live in that is filled with prejudice. What made the story more heartbreaking was how its told from the experience from one of the co-authors in prison.
Besides how this story is filled with emotional weight, there were a few points that made this book a 5
