Intolerable: A Memoir of Extremes by Kamal Al-Solaylee

challenging emotional informative reflective medium-paced

3.25

Interesting and emotional life story of a gay man from Yemen for built a new life in Canada. At times it felt like the book couldn't quite decide if it wanted to focus on the author's (and his family's) story or a detailed insight into political structures in the Middle East. I will admit that I would have preferred more focus on the effects on himself and his family. The second half of the book went more into that direction which I really liked. For the most part the writing style felt a bit distant.
