One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig

3.0

I found the general magic system and storyline interesting enough to consider this a worthwhile read, but I did not connect that much with most of the characters, I found some of the information about the world that comes from the Alders book to be repetitive, the sexual bits of the romance were a bit unnecessary and parts of the plot were a bit predictable, so I have a feeling that I knew who the Nightmare was earlier than the author intended.

Despite this critique, I found the story enjoyable and I'll read the second book in this duology immediately. One thing I have to compliment is that the book ended at a great moment, so it will surely motivate the readers to pick up the next book and find out how things will resolve.
