I finished Last Arguments of Kings the final book in the first law trilogy, yesterday. Its been a journey my friends.. a journey in all sense. I didn't knew what I was getting into when I started this series, just a vague idea and bare minimums of the plot but this story has been a revelation.

Its not pretty, it's violent and gritty and the world is unfair, dark and complex. The outcomes are almost never in our characters favour but they make do and that's the best thing about the story. It's boldly realistic. And you have to be realistic about these things ( as Logen Ninefingers would say it). The story is very character focused and these are not our typical heroes, some of these characters are outright vile but what they do best is they get under your skin. I couldn't help but shake them from my mind. I didn't necessarily liked all of them but I admired them in all of their dubious glory, felt sad and mad for them and in some cases just wanted to hug them
