I understand that the character of Lt. Lindsay Boxer is supposed to represent a remarkable person, but in this story, I think the authors pushed it too far. It's one thing to see her behave as a heroic police homicide detective, another to see her saving a child from a burning building, etc. Just a bit too much. That sort of sums up this outing of the Women's Murder Club. And I'm upset that they saw fit to kill off a WMC member for a contrived and convoluted reason. Here we had an interesting sub-plot going about hidden and/or subtle spousal abuse, and then it's used as a red herring in killing off a central character for no particularly good reason. Overall, I was very disappointed by this story.
