The Empyrean is my favorite adult series! “Iron Flame” like “Fourth Wing” will always hold a special place in my heart for their seamless portrayal of chronic illness and disability. I would like to be or be friends with Violet Sorrengail, and don’t get me started on Xaden Riorson. These books bring me unmitigated joy and keep me on the edge of my seat. “Fourth Wing” set a high bar, and “Iron Flame” rose to the occasion.
