This book really put me on to the JL Seegars bandwagon. It was incredibly written. Black love was personified so beautifully. I found myself crying as I rooted for the characters.

The book deals with some heavy topics around abuse and triggers of abuse but the author does an amazing job with trigger warnings at the beginning and fades to black as needed. The way she wrote about it didn’t center the trauma but centered the triumph.

It was everything I needed and more and now I’m stuck like Chuck waiting for the next books .
