Dumplin' by Julie Murphy

5.0

I want to walk around triumphantly holding DUMPLIN' with both hands over my head like a wrestling championship belt.

This book is bold, ballsy, hilarious, fresh, tender, and moving. Willowdean is a confident yet questioning teen heroine whose voice shines off of the page. She inquires, of both herself and the reader, about how her relationship with her fat body is perceived in a society that holds contempt for bodies that it deems un-ideal.

One of my favorite books of 2015
