The Point After by Sean Conley
5.0
I haven’t read many memoirs related to professional sports, but once I read the synopsis of Sean’s book, I knew I needed to read it!!
This memoir is fantastic. It gives insight into the world of the NFL and how HARD it is to make it to that level.
Sean discusses his journey as a professional kicker, his back injury, and his life after the NFL. I loved reading about the “after”—how Sean figured out what was next for him and family. I especially loved reading about his family’s journey to opening up a yoga studio!
I always love to read about fellow Pennsylvanians (is that a word?). And Sean talked about participating in Punt, Pass, and Kick competitions growing up, which brought back so much nostalgia. I LOVED those competitions and competed several years growing up.
Overall, there was so much I enjoyed about this memoir. While football is a focus, it’s about so much more than football.
