وحي القلم by مصطفى صادق الرافعي
Did not finish book. Stopped at 80%.
Bought this because my Arabic teacher recommended it and because it's very popular.
Could not get through the misogyny tbh. I appreciate that the editors of the edition I own took the time to verify the hadiths that the author used because many of the ones related to women are fabricated or weak.
I found the writing style unnecessarily verbose and grandiloquent - not my cup of tea. Maybe I'll give it a second try in the distant future. But overall I think his works are overrated. A goodreads review described his essays as the historical equivalent of lengthy Facebook posts or Twitter threads, and I think that's a very accurate description lol
