Again, what the flying fuck, Holly?!
Now hold your kelpies because everything below is a guaranteed spoiler. Because I am not okay and will be unable to review this book without talking about every part that turned me into a godawful mess.
The way I absolutely SCREAMED when
1 - Wren and Oak constantly word parried with each other the entire book.
2 - Oak made stupid things happen. Like arrange a marriage.
3 - We returned to Elfhame and the political intrigue that I had absolutely loved to begin with. I so very much missed this in The Stolen Heir.
4 - THE HIGH KING AND QUEEN OF ELFHAME RE-EMERGED. Because JUDE AND CARDAN SUPREMACY.
5 - Madoc was just being Madoc. Like I cannot.
6 - Oak's speeches. OAK'S SPEECHES.
7 - We were fed scraps about what comes next. Are we going to the Undersea with Jude and Cardan? ARE WE GETTING POLITICAL INTRIGUE WITH NICASIA AT THE HELM? AHHHHHH.
I am clearly not unhinged over the direction this series is headed. Nope.
