I think this book was a little too young for me to fully enjoy at this point in time but I know my younger self would have absolutely adored this book I think. As someone who was very passionate about animals and wildlife (and still is.) 

Despite this being reading very young and quite basic. It was still very well done and I think it was very intentional with how it was written. As it was from an animals POV it's not gonna be some crazy descriptive writing. I think Rosanne Parry did an excellent job of humanizing this wolf enough to tell a good story but keeping very true to the realistic nature and mindset of a wolf. 

I will admit that it did get me quite teary eyed at the end. Also the art is absolutely gorgeous in this book which made it all the better.
