“Perhaps the real murder investigation is the friends we make along the way” is truly the perfect pitch for this book. Bianca was relatable as someone who struggles with not overanalysing people’s interactions. I loved reading about their journey with their identity, opening up to people and conquering a few of their fears. All the side characters were fun; my favourites were Anderson, Bianca’s best friend and fellow anime lover, and Kate, Bianca’s sister. The conspiracy was farfetched, but it’s pitched this way, so I can’t complain too much. It required some suspension of disbelief because the danger they were in seemed downplayed by the tone throughout the story, but it was a fun read.
