Dream a Little Dream by Kerstin Gier
REVIEW
Dream a Little Dream was definitely a little hard to get into, I’ve heard great things about Gier’s writing but unfortunately I wan’t as impressed as I wanted to be. What started out to be an interesting plot ended up being a something with identity issues, I’m not sure that there was even a point to some of the scenes but in saying that I still felt like I needed to give it a chance.
Liv our main character was great to read, she had this relaxed personality but her witty remarks just completely topped off her character. She also wasn’t a complete sucker for the “paranormal” — I’ve read too many books where our female protagonist just believes the pretty boy when he reveals he’s something he’s not — she’s a sceptic and pretty much just laughs off anything that she can’t find logical reasoning for. The romance side was slow, and I much preferred the mysterious side to Liv and her love interests friendship rather than the actual relationship.
Dream a Little Dream had great character development but I’m not sure if there was a disconnection between the German > English translation because I didn’t connect with the story all that much.
COVER
The cover is definitely a great selling point as it pulls you in to an Alice in Wonderland-esque vibe, the typography is strong and the perspective really pulls you in.
