This book was not at all what I expected, and I am so pleased, to be honest. I was thinking this would shape up to be more mystery/thriller, when in reality it is much deeper than that. It certainly had mystery but as the story continued it became clear this was a story about community, connection, and second chances. I loved the characters and layers that were revealed as the story progressed, and the whole Shelley House drama kept things interesting.
