This is absolutely one of the most fantastic book I've ever read. It's haunting, it's hilarious, it's happy and sad and so many different emotions.
The Things They Carried is a collection of stories about the Vietnam War. It's the kind of book that changes you and stays with you and that everyone should read to expand their world and their understanding of the people who lived through Vietnam. In addition to being a wonderful look at a specific part of American history, it is a collection of incredible stories that are beautifully written and wonderfully portrayed.
This is without a doubt one of the best books I've ever read and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
