If you like lighter fantasy stories (lighter in denseness, not tone necessarily), you need to read this! Characters, world building, politics, all was so good! I am so impressed with how much Ross fit into this novel. We get a good backstory & growth of our MC, politics that aren’t difficult to understand, a school setting, & a quest.

Really enjoyed reading this. I am not sure I will read the next because this one ends on a pretty complete note & I like how it ends. The only thing I wasn’t sure about was the romance. It was iffy at times & just kind of boring at others. But all in all it was great!
