I've never seen the film, but I couldn't help but pick this book up from the display at the library.

Everything about this book is beautiful. From the cover to the illustrations to the storytelling. I had to force myself, more than once, to just take a second to really just adore the book I was reading. 

This was dark and eerie in all of the right ways and had me so immersed from start to finish. Somehow, both heart-wrenching and hopeful at the same time, I found myself completely and totally emotionally invested in Ofelia and her story.
