Review: Dark, twisty, touch her and die vibes all around in this first book of the Flesh and Bone series. This book centers around Estrella a Fae-marked female and Caelen a “Fae-marked” male. This book is only written from Estrella’s POV.

Estrella is bound to the fae and has known her whole life that something about her was different. When she is told that she is to be the next sacrifice for the veil she decides that that is a better fate than wait awaits her if she denies it. During the ceremony her “Fae-mark” comes to life and the Guards of Mistfell descend on her. She escapes with her brother and begins her life on the run where she encounters Caelen.

Caelen is in the right place at the right time. He forms a bond with Estrella and lets her go when her bother finds them. Later on we see him find her again after the Wild Hunt attacks her. Together they set off on a quest and over time he begins to win her heart. During the adventures, we see both of them learn to work together.

While Estrella avoids her feelings at first she gives in eventually and we see her begin to fall hard for him. I enjoyed their banter and wit, especially the strength and cunning Estrella had towards him. Since this book is only from her POV we do not see much from his side but we do occasionally see her note the sense of “other” in him.

This book satisfies all the dark romance hearts. Caelen is a uber protective male who loves Estrella and Estrella is a strong FMC who does not back down. Personally, I enjoyed the rebellion in her the most. I loved the steam but I knew her inner steel spine was to die for!

Rating: 100/100, this book is dark and testy with lots of spice and a fav of mine by this author!
