Thirteen by Steve Cavanagh

First of all, I committed the cardinal sin of reading book 4 in the series first. Oops!
I don't know how Cavanagh did that! For over half the book I was so sure I knew what what going on and then WHAAAAT! Then it was one twist after another. I loved it. I really like Flynn ๐ I rooted for him in the courtroom and even with his personal issues. He's just a good dude!
This is the first book I've read where I actually enjoyed the courtroom action. It played out really well; the technical speak was well done, the competition between the prosecution and the defence, which was definitely entertaining and it got better once the juror drama kicked off!
The bodies kept popping up towards to end, making our antagonist more unlikable ๐ and considering how many times I root for the killer, for once I was glad to see the killer get what he deserved ๐ชfor me, this shows how great Cavanagh's writing is
Despite being the fourth book in a series it read incredibly well as a standalone or for someone (me ๐ฎ) starting the series with the most recent book ๐
