Give this series as a whole a 3.8 i think.

I preferred Drowned Country just a but more as I found it fun to be in Silver's head. Only thing stopping me from giving more stars is I just wish there was just the littlest bit more to this story, and that some scenes were developed a bit more to fully grab my interest.

Which can be done in these short format books! I am thinking of Arden Powell's The Bayou and Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children series here.

All in all though such a touching, warm, and cozy set of books and it saddens me theres only 2! I can see myself rereading these in the fall/winter time with a nice big cup of tea.
