OMG. Read it at one sitting.
First of all, this reading is not flawless: the main character is deeply infantile, the plot is messy, more temporal lines intertwine, so it took a while to figure out the alternance of present and past times. In spite of its minor flaws and its apparent ease, it was a wonderful read.
I found myself literally screaming out loud and cheering up for the characters, I've laughed and I cried, I felt affection for the characters. The ending wasn't taken for granted, I had no certanty of what would happen. It's sad, and sweet, and healthy, and you wish you could indulge in their world for a bit more. (Yep, I want more. Can we have other glimpses into their lives?). If that's not what you'd want from a readiing....
It was wonderful to see a group of friend never letting go of one of them, as hard as they had to try. Maybe that's why it struck me and others so much, whilst it has left others doubting and wishing for more: the plot is so simple and the bond between the characters is so tight and sweet it is almost unlikely, but it's the healthy group of friends everyone wishes they had in their lives, I wish I had in my life.
ALSO, SAKU. SAKU. I LOVE HIM. I JUST. HE'S THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A HEALTHY MASCULINITY. STRONG AND KIND, HE DESERVES THE WORLD
