I really liked this book because it gave a unique and thought-provoking account of a lost youth attempting to come to terms with the adult world. The writing style perfectly reflected Holden's perspective, so I felt more immersed in his story. I find it interesting that the book spans just a few days, but in that short amount of time, the events that occur and how he deals with the consequences of his actions show a deeper, more introspective view of the pains of life transition, the beauty of discovery, experiencing the new and exciting, and most importantly, the bitter-sweet reconciliation of childhood innocence and adult responsibility.
