The Virgin River series is a series I love turning to when I need a sweet, light read. Temptation Ridge delivered just that!
Shelby, our female main character, is a young, 25 year old who may be seen as not having a lot of worldly experiences but her life experience is so much more than people can ever endure. Having spent the last several years caring for her dying mother, Shelby is now ready to experience the world and heal. She is surrounded by family and friends, and yet she still seeks something more. Enter our hunky male main character, Luke.
Luke and Shelby are each others grounding point, even though they don't see it straight away. Both are trying to protect one another, not control but enjoy. and yet they both fail to really see what is happening.
Whilst Luke and Shelby are enjoying their romance, we also see other relationships bloom and develop. This is another reason I really enjoy these books. The past characters are still in play. We still see them, know them and grow with them. We are not just readers but actually town members of Virgin River. These characters become beloved neighbours. I love reading about their lives, their dreams and their troubles.
Robyn Carr has created a truly beautiful place, and one I will continue to visit.
