The Jellyfish by Boum

5.0

i dont know if i have the words to properly describe how much i love this and how much it impacted me, but i want to try.
this book hit home for me so deeply and intensely. everything from the big things of the disability portrayal in general (despite me having a non-progressive disability, unlike Odette), to smaller things like Odette avoiding telling their girlfriend about their impending blindness out of fear of their gf leaving them (i have been in such similar situations). the art in general is incredible, both the actual drawings themselves + the jellyfish gradually covering more and more of the pages until you get to where it goes entirely black.
the final page of this book is incredibly impactful. please read this. my god this is so easily in my top 5 of this year.
