This was so good at the start and the middle, Hester’s rampage and the Green Storm were epic and so engaging. The Lost Boys were terrifying and curious, but the bit I wasn’t engaging with was Anchorage. I loved it when this novel went dark and problematic and that was so exciting, but returning to Anchorage and squabbles and America was a bit dull. And the ending was very anti-climatic. Leaving to America and happily ever after? Well what happened when they got there? I want to continue the story for more Hester and Anna Fang, but I might not be able to deal with the light squabbling. Also, Hester is an amazing woman, and anyone who thinks Philip has an issue with female representation needs to understand that this woman was realistic and raw and I fucking loved her.
