This is being marketed as Percy Jackson x Hunger Games for an adult audience. While I agree, I think a better comparison would be Lore by Alexandra Bracken x Hunger Games.

While long, this book didn't feel like it had anything frivolous or extra that needed cutting. I enjoyed every part of it. The romance was a bit on the cheesy side for my tastes (I've heard it called a slow burn but it felt like instalove to me).

I really like Lyra and her journey. Hades was also really likeable (but again, a bit cheesy for me). And I liked the cast of side characters as well.

Content: lots of language, violence/gore, one open door love scene.
